General Training Unit 07
This unit will focus on TRUE / FALSE / NOT GIVEN questions in the reading test, one of the most challenging question types in IELTS. The writing section will develop your Task 1 letter writing skills, particularly letters about likes, dislikes, needs and wants, and will also introduce the final stage of Task 2 essays – writing an effective conclusion.
In listening, you will practise matching and classifying questions, learning how to identify relationships between ideas and speakers. The unit also reviews some important grammar and sentence accuracy areas, including fragments, comma splices and run-on sentences, the passive voice, and the use of articles (a / an / the / zero article). Finally, you will review Band 9.0 model answers and Band 7.0 sample answers, and study the Unit 7 vocabulary list to expand your academic language.
